Kim Kardashian Curls

I'm sure there are 1001 videos, tutorials etc. etc. etc. on the WORLD WIDE WEB telling you how to get the famous Kardashian curls, but I just couldn't help adding to that ;) For the past few years I really have been experimenting with my hair, to find my own 'signiture' hairstyle, and I think I found it with this tool.

I think a lot of it is down to the product I use to achieve the curls. I have mid-length, very thick hair and the size of this wand is perfect for me. I use the wand to curl my hair from my air downwards, making sure that my curls don't start too far up!

I then use my hair dryer and a blow drying brush to blow out my grown out bangs away from my face, creating the Kim kardashian wisps which so lightly frame her face!

As with the kardashians, the hair looks better with a middle part and it's important to run through the centre part at the end of your styling session with a gaur dryer to ensure the hair doesn't fall flat on your scalp.

Products I regret buying!

Unlike in the USA, here in the UK we don't have the option of returning or exchanging makeup or beauty products that we just don't like. Hence, the popular 'products I regret buying' on the brit's parts!

I generally am a big fan of the topshop makeup range. Though i wasn't keen at first, I came to really like the fashion brand which launched it!s new makeup line. Having tried their nail polish and lipstick , I thought id take a step further and buy their baked blush and bronzer. The product just simply is not good. I was told buy the MUA that the product adjusts on the skin according to your skin tone. After coming home though and seeing the product in natural light I soon came to realise that in fact the blush is so poorly pigmented that it barely shows up on the skin. Unless you really build up the colour (which, lets face it you just don't want to be doing at 7 in the morning) ! At £10 I'd recommend adding just that little bit more and venturing out to buy a mac blush, as far as I know there are no breath taking drugstore blushers out there!

Next is the benefit 'rebel' tinted moisturiser. Admittedly, I bought this product when I first started  my makeup craze. The product comes in two shades, light and then dark and apparently this to adjusts to your skin tone ( maybe that's my problem). The tinted moisturiser has no coverage and the colour, although at first seemed to look fine, feels too dark. I read up a bit on this, and a lot of people, even a friend have said that the moisturiser oxidises with time and this is why the colour ends up looking so different after some time. My last problem with this is that I find it makes my skin to oily instead of giving me a light fresh feeling face, I feel weighed down and generally icky when I wear this, especially in the summer when a tinted moisturiser is preferred!

The last set of products I really do not like are the 17 eye shadows. Now, I admittedly got these a while ago so I don't know if these have changed or not over the years but the quality isn't great. I have small eyes, so i struggle to work with any shimmer whether it be mac or collection 2000. But these eye shadows have quite thick shimmers in them which are not to my liking! sorry 17!

Just a little disclaimer to say that I don't mean to be rude about any of the companies above, I just think that I should be giving you my honest opinions not only on the products I'm loving but those that aren't so good. You never know, some of you out there may love these products, they just don't work for ME! :)

Foundation Virgin!

Many of you will be surprised to hear that being a beauty obsessed 18 year old -I have never before worn any foundation! It's true..I've always been under the impression that it'll make me look cakey and just generally like someone out of TOWIE...either that or I'd end up looking like a pale ghost in all of my pictures, but this really isn't the case. What with it being that 'wedding season' I was finding that my full face of make-up was lacking that WOW factor and it just wasn't looking flawless. So, I took the plunge and decided to ease myself into the foundation world with a drugstore foundation which I'd heard so much about...The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation RRP £8.99

Now I'm not 100% sure if my opinion is really valid, especially since I have nothing to compare this with, but my first impressions are generally really very good. The foundation is easy to blend (PERFECT with a real techniques stipling brush) , and feels so light on the skin that I can hardly notice that I'm wearing it. I find that it creates a wonderful base combined with my benefit POREfessional and the MAC select cover up concealer. The colour range seems to be quite good too, although I'd recommend going and trying it out on your skin before you buy because the foundation looks darker in the bottle compared to how it looks on the skin perhaps indicating that it's made for warmer skin tones! For reference I bought the shade' True Nude'  and I usually go for the NC42 concealer at MAC. The foundation itself claims to have an anti-fatigue effect and gives a radiant glow and I definitely think that this is the case!

The foundation retails at £8.99, but both Boots and Superdrug are selling it at a promotional offer with £2 off! So I would definitely recommend going out and buying it NOW.

Haul time!

So guys! It has been so long since I have had a good ol' shop- what with exams and everything so iv bought a couple of things ranging from makeup to clothing in the last few days! Just thought I'd show you some of the things I'v bought!

On the makeup front...I had some MAC vouchers left over from my birthday so I went down to the shop today at westfields and finally spent them! Woop! I spent it on lipsticks and blusher because I think that these are my personal makeup essentials! A lippy and a blusher can really polish an outfit so that it goes from looking okay to having that wow factor! I always know which products I like at MAC because I'll continue to pick the same product over and over without even realising! BUT one thing that does always get me is that I always imagine that they have a bigger variety of colours than they actually do which is always a tad annoying!

Topshop being my favourite shop- I couldn't really pass the sale going on and surprisingly I actually found some stuff which I'd describe as classic and timeless. I'd been after a Barbour jacket for some time now so seeing this topshop one for £45 seemed perfect...I like that you can wear it oversized or fitted because it has a singed in waist detail! And as for the shirt I'd had my eye on it for some time now- I don't really know why I didn't buy it before but hey i saved £18! :D
Not the most flattering angle!

Sorry!

Long time no blog right? I have been busy with exams so I do apologise...but from today onwards I will aim to post more frequently! I cannot wait to get my blog up and running- the excitement is unreal...so I guess I'll get started...

Je t'aime!

The price on the sephora website says $107, but I have heard that it's available for $65
The versatility of the palette is what makes me want it most. It has a highlighter called hungry heart, four blushes including orgasnm, super orgasm, desire and sin and a bronzer called casino. I think the warm colours will suit my skin colour fabulously. I had my eyes on the Nars laguna for ages but I just think this will be a better investment. The downside though is that it's not available in the UK and it's only available for a limited period at sephora! :(

2. Chelsea boots
I can't find the links to any I love
This is just a picture of a random boots from urban outfitters (old stock i think). I haven't really seen the right ones yet, I liked a pair in Office shoes but they're shape just didn't fit my feet :( So they were no good! Anyone seen any nice ones, preferably brown, let me know?

These are £14.99
Oh gosh I love these! I think they look gorgeous! They can be dressed up with a nice top or dressed down with an over-sized knit! I need a pair of these ASAP, but i went into H&M the other day and they were nowhere to be seen! :o Anyone no of any?

The watches range from £35-£45. Stockists include: Asos and Urban Outfitters.
This is so old school and that's what I love about it! I like the rose gold version, I think it looks classy and retro at the same time! I can just see myself wearing it everyday.
These retail on fashionolgy.nl at £12.53.
This ring is so pricey for what it is, especially because I want two- one for my ring finger and the other for my index. I really like the look it gives- and the simplicity of it makes it look so classy on the hands. I also LOVE the fact that it's unique...you don't see many people with these rings and that appeals to me.
These are £38, but student discount gets you them for around £34
I have a pair at the moment and they are honestly the best jeans I have EVER owned! They fit perfectly and (without sounding boastful) I'v had so many compliments for them. I really do NEED them because I've been wearing my current ones far too much. The only thing I'd say is that they've started wearing away from the seam...does that make sense, I'm sure it's nothing mummy can't fix- she is mummy after all :p A black pair next methinks! ;)

£50- i think that's all I can say.
I've really been liking the 'grain' effect jumpers that have hit the shops recently and I think that this one is absolutely beaut. Its over-sized looking which i really love and would look amazing with a shirt underneath. The only snag is the price..it's too expensive for a jumper..50pounds...and plus I get bored of my clothes quickly so would it be worth it? Any dupes anyone? P.S this jumper is reversible...ohhh i just found that out...perhaps its worth buying after all.
Prices range
I've had my eye on these for a while but have always been afraid of looking too chavy, but its come to the point that I really really want one! My brother has one and although it's for men, I sometimes pop it on if I'm running to the shops or something...it is so comfy and warm and i love it!

£36
My mummy told me that I don't wear enough colour the other day (BOO!) and i was quite taken aback because I didn't think i was too bad! I think it's the weather personally, its always cold- wearing a bright pink doesn't seem like the right thing to do on a dark and gloomy morning! Maybe this particular jumper is taking it a step too far, but it's kinda cute..no? So that is something I'm going to have to work on...colour!

I just remembered that i want this too haha so i thought i'd add it in :p I feel that it can add pazazz and ofcourse warmth to an outfit. Classy and minimal.

So, these are the things that I'm loving and 'thinking' about at the moment. Let me know what you think and if you've seen anything similar but better. Does that make sense!? Anyhow, have a nice weekend everyone.

I've attached links of the items but they aren't all identical to the images shown above- I hope you don't mind.

Melba

Popping by mac the other day, Mimi and I simply couldn't pass by the chance to get Melba blush by mac. After hearing the continuous raving of the product by thepersianbabe and viviannadoesmakeup it was inevitable that we would buy it sooner or later. Now I know for sure what these girls meant...it's such a lovely, warm and flattering neutral colour which adapts to any skin tone. The blush belongs to Mimi, but I regret not buying it and will hopefully pop down this week to get my very own one. The versatility of the product makes it a winner....I'm just gutted I didnt't get it earlier.

I know I'll be wearing mine with 'kinda sexy' lippie by mac, and my bad gal mascara which i posted about here.
